As we know Xander will do anything for love even resorting to bad things to justify doing for said person ( he's already done that in his relationships with Sarah and Gwen). The fact that Rex is a Dr he may sent to assess her medically but used the story Sarah recalls it just seems to weird and random for Rex to show out of the blue. Xander reached out to Rex to help with the cover-up. We know Abigail said they had a knife which can always be one or people depending on the intent. Being angry at Gwen, maybe she went to see Abigail she was hallucinating that she was seeing Gwen and not Abigail, Xander arriving and he was trying to get the knife out of her hands and Sarah stabbed Abigail. Is it possible her bad dream was accidentally killing Abigal.

Then she goes back to the Inn and takes sleeping pills and she awakens from a bad dream. I went back to the segments to when Marlena hypnotized Sarah, when she left Gwen she struggled with how she felt about confronting her in short she was so angry. At this point I do think the two stabbings are connected but for me I wonder if Sarah really killed Abigail and that memory is being suppressed. This one really keeps twisting the story line one minute think you know the next something happens to change your thoughts.
